Happy Birthday all!!!

Happy birthdays!

It has been an honor to have our interns this summer. Janyia Stoddard (Law Links intern) and Taylor Robinson (Elizabeth Seton High School intern) were a perfect addition to the Shipley & Horne, P.A. team, and we thoroughly enjoyed their stints with us. We are excited for both of these young ladies as they enter their junior year of high school, and we know they will continue to make a lasting impact on their peers and community.

Before Janyia left, she shared:

“Over these past couple of weeks, I have learned a lot. Working as an intern was a little stressful at some points, but it was also fun. Some days, I worked on cases; some days I sat in on meetings and some days, I was a receptionist. The receptionist they have is incredible at what she does. On the days I covered for her, it was really hard because I didn't know what buttons to push or anything. I eventually got better at it, but it was still a little hard at times. Working here gave me insight on whether I want to become a lawyer or not. Though I still haven’t decided yet for sure, I had a great time working at Shipley & Horne, P.A., and I will miss everyone. I just want to say thank you again for this opportunity. “

Taylor’s remarks in closing were:

“I would first like to express my gratitude to everyone at Shipley & Horne, P.A. for allowing me to intern in a welcoming environment. This experience has been one that I will never forget. As an intern this summer, I had the opportunity to attend meetings, interact with clients, conduct research, enter payments, answer the phones, observe cases, work on interrogatories, Wills, and, most of all, I had the opportunity to interact with a team in a profession I someday hope to pursue. This experience has made it clear to me that I want to continue my journey to become a Civil Rights attorney. I feel I've grown so much in these past eight weeks, which went by so fast.

It's been a pleasure to work with every person on the staff, and I promise to keep in contact and visit.”

THANK YOU, LADIES! We truly appreciated your assistance this summer 🙂
